Touchlab Supports the Precision Medicine Initiative

UPDATE:

FACT SHEET: Obama Administration Announces Key Actions to Accelerate Precision Medicine Initiative (CMD + F + ‘touchlab’)

#PrecisionMedicine is Trending on Twitter

Today (February 25th, 2016) at 10AM EST President Obama will hold the Precision Medicine Summit to mark a year of effort on the initiative. Touchlab is proud to be one of the private companies supporting the Precision Medicine Initiative, America’s bold new research effort to revolutionize how we improve health, treat disease and innovate past the old school “one-size-fits-all” approach to medicine.

In concert with our remarkable partners Open mHealth and Cornell Tech, and thanks to generous funding from RWJF, touchlab has the privilege to develop ResearchStack v1.0 to provide a vital tool for the massive research efforts to come in the next few years.

ResearchStack is an open source SDK and UX framework for building research study apps on Android. The goal of the project is to help developers and researchers with existing ResearchKit (TM) apps more easily adapt those apps on Android and for future projects to have the ability to be inclusive of all people, not just those with an iOS device.

Version 1.0 will be released to the public by April 15th, 2016. The initial release will be immediately usable by researchers and developers to build apps, and Cornell Tech and Open mHealth are making plans for future full feature parity with iOS’s ResearchKit (TM). While it’s likely that our involvement will conclude after the release of V1 we are beyond excited to see the community use, extend and grow the platform to do great work.
